7 Little things to make yourself happier, today.
People always say it is the ‘little things’ in life that make you happier. Well, here are 7 of them that take only a few minutes to do and will certainly brighten your day. Go ahead, smile.
1. Listen to a few songs from your favorite old Disney movie
Everyone has fond memories of their favorite Disney cartoons. Personally, I like Aladdin, The Lion King, and Beauty and the Beast. After a long day a little ‘Circle of Life’ or ‘Gaston’ will pick me right back up.
Don’t already have the mp3s of these classics? Check out my guide to finding mp3s with Google.
2. Do someone else an unexpected favor
You always feel good after doing something nice for someone you care about, or even a perfect stranger. In this case, your motivation is a bit selfish - but hey, it’s a win-win situation.
3. Call your grandma
Those we love can make us feel happy with only the sound of their voice. Give your grandmother a ring, or any other relative of your choosing. It will make them happy to know you were thinking of them, and you can share a recent accomplishment or story and feel good about it. No one is more proud than our grandma’s.
4. Do nothing
That’s right, nothing. Taking a nice, silent, 10 minute break can be so rewarding. It will help you de-stress and clear your head.
5. Go for a walk
Another great way to clear your head is a nice walk. Do yourself a favor while the weather is still nice outside and go out! Bring along an iPod, or just enjoy the sounds of nature. Walks always leave me energized and more optimistic.
6. Set a goal for the future
Setting goals is an excellent way to put yourself in a positive, forward-thinking frame of mind. Doing this simple task can bring you pleasure by helping you to refocus on whats important while creating a path towards obtaining what you want.
7. Cook a meal for yourself or make a healthy snack
As college students, any successful meal that doesn’t end in a kitchen full of smoke is a grand accomplishment (at least for me). Cooking your own dinner tonight will give you time to relax, and you’ll have a great tasting fresh meal to enjoy! You’ll be happy you did it.
No time for a full meal? How about making a health smoothie instead.
Digg this story and give a little happiness to someone else!
That is all 7 things! Stay tuned for more. Be happy.

I’ve just put m,y kids to bed, came online and stumbled. We’ve had a hard day, and i needed a little pick me up.
So, I put on my Disney CD (which i actually bought for me, and not the kids!) and listened to ‘Everybody wants to be a cat’ and ‘Prince Ali’. I then rang my Grandma, and had a lovely chat about the declining state of manners and common curtesy in todays youth (at 21 I guess I don’t count as that pesky youth anymore
) and then had myself a piece of banana cake I made earlier (very tasty and healthy
)
And thank you, I feel a helluva lot better for it

I’m not a great fan of Disney tunes but every other tip on here I fully agree with. Though calling my grandma may prove a little bit difficult … and could be pretty scarey if she answers!!!
